CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) is a high-density programmable logic device with an integration density greater than 1000 gates, more input/output signals, product terms and macro units. It is mainly composed of three parts: logic blocks, programmable interconnection channels and I/O blocks, and has the characteristics of high density, high speed and low power consumption. CPLD is based on product term technology and does not require an external EEPROM for configuration. It is composed of programmable AND gates, OR gate arrays and macro units, and is suitable for designing complex combinational logic circuits. CPLD is widely used in occasions that require high-density logic functions, such as communications, industrial control, instrumentation and other fields. Due to its high density and low power consumption, CPLD performs well in systems that require dynamic changes in logic functions. In addition, CPLD is also often used to implement complex sequential logic function modules, such as decoders.
